Layers of the City

Auckland Revealed

Private Full-day Tour

Discover Auckland’s culture, history, and natural beauty on this immersive full-day private tour uncovering the city’s many layers.

Māori Court - Auckland War Memorial Museum
Auckland Harbour Bridge
The Domain - Auckland War Memorial Museum
Devonport

At the heart of the experience is a visit to the Auckland War Memorial Museum, where you’ll enjoy general admission plus a live haka performance — a powerful introduction to Māori culture and storytelling.

From there, explore the many layers that make Tāmaki Makaurau unique — from Māori beginnings and colonial growth to modern creativity and diversity. This thoughtfully paced day gives you a deeper connection to the city, guided by someone who knows it intimately.

Travel through elegant heritage suburbs, waterfront precincts, creative neighbourhoods, and volcanic landscapes. Stop at Mount Eden’s summit for sweeping views, wander the Domain Wintergardens, pause at Mission Bay Beach, and reflect on the views from Bastion Point before finishing by the water at the Viaduct Harbour.

This isn’t just a highlights reel. It’s a relaxed, engaging, and flexible day where iconic sights and hidden gems are brought to life with rich storytelling and context. Expect short walks, scenic stops, and space to explore at your pace.

Amazing guide; excellent tour!!

I had a fantastic tour with my guide Louise in Auckland. We went to Mission Bay and an incredible lookout where you could see all the volcanos and islands off in the distance..
One thing that stood out was her incredible knowledge of the island and the history surrounding every location we went to. It was a really immersive and I felt the strong cultural connection.
We visited the walking trails of Takaparawhau that included the beautiful grounds of the MJ Savage Memorial, a short hike up to Mt. Eden (Maungawhau) and the magnificent 360 views of Auckland.
I got some amazing pics of the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the nearby Auckland Domain which included the Wintergarden and Fernery.
We eventually worked our way into to the city and I was introduced to the Vaana Peace Murals, a collection of 22 pieces against nuclear arms and many more sites including the expanse of the University of Auckland.
